O-RAN SC based end-to-end Automation demo: VNF Deployment, FM & PM Monitoring and Healing

This demo is in continuation to the previous series of demonstrations involving the ORAN-SC projects around ORAN O2 interfaces and their interaction showcasing an end-to-end realization of key O-RAN use cases—VNF deployment, fault & performance monitoring, and life-cycle management (LCM) operations such as healing enabled through seamless automation through SMO.

It demonstrates ETSI profile (NFV-compliant) workflows integrated within the O-RAN architecture to achieve efficient and reliable network operations. The setup leverages open-source platforms such as Tacker, Devtron, StarlingX, Prometheus etc to automate and orchestrate functions across SMO, VNFM, and O-Cloud domains.

GitHub for Everything - Build, Test, Deploy, Publish
Yesterday, our development lifecycle spans three systems - Gerrit, GitHub, and Jenkins.

  • Gerrit handles code review and mirrors code into GitHub.

  • Jenkins manages Build, Test, Deploy, and Publish (CI/CD).

By moving CI/CD to GitHub Actions, we can consolidate the workflow within GitHub, eliminating Jenkins. This reduces infrastructure and operational overhead, lowers maintenance effort, and improves developer efficiency.
The demonstration shows how the oam-controller is build and verified.

OKD as an O-Cloud Platform
Red Hat has been participating in the O-RAN Software Community INF project since the J Release in 2024-06, with the goal of developing OKD as an additional O-Cloud platform reference implementation. This presentation will provide a brief overview of the architecture and history of the OKD O-Cloud implementation and demonstrate the OKD O-Cloud deployment automation and O-Cloud Manager cluster provisioning functionality.

AIMLFW Composable Pipeline – Dynamic and Modular components to build training pipeline
The AIMLFW Composable Pipeline repository (pipeline-components) provides a modular foundation for building, onboarding, and executing AI/ML pipelines dynamically within the AIMLFW framework. This design allows AIMLFW to support dynamic pipeline creation, aligning vision of flexible and automated AI/ML workflows across RAN environments.
