OSC Project roundup
OSC Cherry Rapidly approaching! (Release early Dec)
NONRTRIC (@John Keeney (Ericsson EST))
No major update. Trying to wrap up Cherry release.
OSC NONRTRIC Cherry Demo last Friday: 2020-12-04 - OSC NONRTRIC Cherry Demo
SMO
No update.
SIM (@Alex Stancu)
No update - Also pushing for OSC Cherry release.
OAM (@Martin Skorupski)
Cherry Demo: https://lf-o-ran-sc.atlassian.net/wiki/display/OAM/Use+case+demonstration
Most/all deliverables are now delivered from ONAP not OSC. So OSC OAM will not likely release further work.
Exception is Yang Validator with with SMO: https://gerrit.o-ran-sc.org/r/gitweb?p=oam.git;a=tree;f=solution/dev/smo/yang-validator
Discussion with TSC at next meeting
ONAP Functions used: SDNC for O1-CM/Netconf, PM-Mapper, VES collector (7.1), Alarm lists, DMaaP, etc. Using OOM helm.
@Sandeep Shah @Martin Skorupski VES 7.1: File ready, PNF registration, Fault. But not CM notify requires 7.2 (Will check with DCAE teamwhat will be available in VES 7.2)
@Michela Bevilacqua [Ericsson] ONAP PMSH for PM activation collection? @Martin Skorupski Assume collection is enabled, just send "File Ready" event to trigger colelction. No actual functions available for PM activation @John Keeney (Ericsson EST) Once use cases get more mature we will probably need PMSH. No need right now. @Michela Bevilacqua [Ericsson] See Netconf via CDS to enable/disable jobs. See demo in ONAP. @Martin Skorupski Demo/solution might be already useful for O-RAN O1 models.
Multiple PNF Registration event? @Martin Skorupski Just check connectivity after reception of event. If multiple copies just re-register again. So no issue. Multiple events have pros/cons e.g. on function restart etc.. JIRA ticket might be needed?
(Plans for Dawn: OAM Dawn)
ONAP - OSC
TOSCA Defined Control Loop PoC in ONAP:
@Liam Fallon @Michela Bevilacqua [Ericsson]
See video at 00:23:10
Much more flexible way to define control loops in ONAP.
@John Keeney (Ericsson EST) Could perhaps add A1-PolicyManagementService & A1-EnrichmentInformationCoordinator as participants? (TBC)
Earlier version of Demo here: https://wiki.lfnetworking.org/display/LN/2020-10-13+-+ONAP+Control+Loop+in+TOSCA+Demo
Currently a PoC in ONAP. Ambition for ONAP Istanbul for full functionality
@Martin Skorupski Will multi-tenancy be supported? @Liam Fallon Currently being studied. But cannot foresee major problems.
@Kamel Idir Replacing DCAE Designer? @Liam Fallon Will work together with DCAE designer & DCAE Mod. Not intended to replace, but be complimentary. Hopefully functions/apis provided can be used by them later.
ONAP Usecases:
(Please see: Potential ONAP <-> O-RAN collaboration use cases )
Other
@Swaminathan S Any chance of the YANG models becoming available? @Martin Skorupski Cannot answer. Very complex & ongoing. No solution for licensing issues. Please explicitly email Martin with issues to trigger further possible investigation.
@Swaminathan S Any update on VES 7.2 CM-Notify (see above). @Martin Skorupski Need to check with the VES Collector team in ONAP.
@Pawel SlowikowskiHas kicked off Samsung-internal discussions about hopefully providing to the community Handover Simulator demonstrated before
@Swaminathan S ONAP RAN simulator - used in Network Slicing usecase - is probably useful for people in OSC too? Will demo further in Jan 2021?
(From last week's minutes: Updated by @Swaminathan S : The earlier version of the simulator's "Controller" code is available at https://git.onap.org/integration/simulators/ran-simulator. The architecture for Dublin release is available at RAN-Simulator impacts. Further enhancements are being made to it for the E2E Network Slicing case. Will share references once the wiki is updated.)
@John Keeney (Ericsson EST) @Swaminathan S Please mention simulator to @Former user (Deleted) in OSC RSAC. Might be useful to liaise re ONAP Slicing / O-RAN Slicing Use Case alignment & collaboration.
See you Next Year. Happy Christmas!
