  • Control panel re-engineering ongoing - backend mainly

    • To streamline API exposure for control panel

  • Starting some prototyping around rApp execution platform & packaging.

    • Will present a more detailed proposal in coming weeks.

SMO (@Mahesh Jethanandani)

  • Mahesh has a scheduling conflict at this time

SIM (@Alex Stancu)

  • Working on Netconf call home over TLS (vs. SSH) - needed for proposed O-RU usecase.

    • Need a updated of ODL - beyond Aluminum (Silicon)

  • New Simulator @Alex Stancu

    • Extensions of NS3 models/plugins for RAN simulation

    • Facebook? & Berkeley ? @Alex Stancu will begin joining calls

    • Very little detail at this stage

OAM (@Martin Skorupski)

  • Continuing to work on 2 main use cases:

    • Callhome to VES:pnfRegistration

      • Provide functionality to provide a VES pnfRegistration event in SMO for events that only support NetConf Call Home

      • Configure device to send call home event & cert management, mountpoint in controller, then listen for callhome & translate to VES event to VES collector

      • Some updates to the O-RU FH use case needed - to be discussed in RSAC

      • @John Keeney (Ericsson EST) @Kamel Idir How does this interact with the ONAP Plug & play usecase? @Martin Skorupski No effect, this enables the use case to work with functions that do not already provide the VES event pnfRegistration. No effect in controller - e.g. if the node is mounted again. 

      • Ref SIM topic above about call home over TLS - (Step #5 in call chart at Callhome to VES:pnfRegistration)

      • @Vidhu (Deactivated) Call flow shown is for O-RU ... Similar needed for O-DU? @Martin Skorupski No. Uses normal VES event itself. @Vidhu (Deactivated) Already implemented? @Martin Skorupski Yes in SIM Simulator. Only required for MPlane O-RUs

      • @Pawel Slowikowski Is network required for this call home? Other protocols? @Martin Skorupski Currently must be netconf according to O-RAN Alliance.

    • o-ran-fm:alarm-notify to ves:fault

      • Still in progress - for O-RU use case

      • Similar to above to translate netconf faults from O-RU into VES events

    • If interested, we're examining how to add HTTPS proxy support for A1 Adapter (e.g. @Former user (Deleted) Bastion in a real world deployment) but may have serious knock on effects for other functions & regression testing using SLI graphs etc ....

      • Still trying to view policies not showing up in control panel. & Struggling with configuration

      • @John Keeney (Ericsson EST) Please continue to engage over email. Most likely a configuration error. More verbose logging information and setup environment information would be useful See also tests in ONAP (CSIT) and OSC (nonrtric/tests) for more examples too.
