  • No call this week - so no progress to report.

  • Work on whitepaper continues - almost complete

NONRTRIC (@John Keeney (Ericsson EST))

• OSC NONRTRIC: Release J

• Continuing tasks as mentioned previous weeks:

  • Kicking off Release preparation

  • Continue work our new Service Manager function

    • Improving Documentation & deployment scripts etc

    • Lots still to do! Backlog will continue into next release

  • Continue work on rApp Manager - as a focal point for tying together alot of other existing activities

    • Working on some sample rApps. e.g. See Release J: Simple rApp using Hello World Microservice

    • Working on SME & DME integration & improvements

  • Continue maturing the A1-Policy Controller function (ref ONAP) - including a potential new NBI (v3) to achieve R1 alignment

    • Current API will be maintained but deprecated for several releases to come.

    • Making slow but steady progress.

      • First version of R1 API implemented

      • Lots of work on testing & benchmarking & documentation

  • Still need to get working on a proper A1-Policy Integration test with OSC near-RT-RIC (A1 Mediator)

    • No update from near-RT-RIC team

  • Will need to de-prioritise many of the older less-used NONRTRIC functions - we welcome others in the community to help take these on if interested.

    • Need to study how/if we can achieve R1-DME alignment. Specs continue to diverge from our implementation - with alot of effort need to align.  We welcome contributors to help here.

SIM (@Alex Stancu)

• Still updating SIM base platform - as per previous weeks.

• Working with @Martin Skorupski on O-RU/O-DU

OAM (@Martin Skorupski)

• Working through latest specs from March release

• Lots of work needed for O-RU control via O-DU (with @Alex Stancu)

  • Working on demoing/poc-ing a notification from O-RU

  • It looks like O-DU must translate all messages from O-RU & cross spec alignment is then tricky

• Still working on & making progress on Yang Schema Mount (for O-DU to expose O-RU management capabilities)

• Cleaning up Jira tickets for J Release

OSC Integration / INT (@James Li)

  • Looking at rApp Manager

    • Working through deploying sample apps - nearly working now

    • Currently some of the rApps pods are not starting.

  • Questions about relationship between CAPIF & Service Manager

    • @John Keeney (Ericsson EST)Lots of work needed to actually enforce exposure & authorization/access-control. Alot of previous demos needed to do parts of this manually, e.g. setting up charts for service publishers & service consumers (esp. rApps)

    • @John Keeney (Ericsson EST) Currently working on pre-loading platform services into Service Manager (see upcoming changes in it/dep/nonrtic & it/dep/smo-install charts to preload services into registry & set up API gateway)

    • Would be nice to have a GUI/dashboard for Service Manager, and/or an easier to use API (CAPIF is difficult to use )

  • rApp monitoring?

    • @John Keeney (Ericsson EST) There may be some updates coming at O-RAN F2F, perhaps? See O-RAN Alliance wiki to see discussions & drafts.
