  • Note Time change for TOC calls from May 5th onward

    • +1 day & 1hr. Thursdays  (Thursday 9AM EST)

    • Timeslot is currently used by RSAC/SMO (RSAC/SMO will take the timeslot originally used for TOC)

  • OTF readout likely will happen next week at RSAC call (Note changing time for RSAC call - moved to Wednesday - taking the old OSC TOC timeslot)

  • VIAVI presented plans for RAN simulator/emulator & extensions for future use cases - particularly the mMIMO use case.

    • Binary distribution will be provided, with some scripts & tests provided.

    • (Emulator was previously used to generate data for HCL for ML training (xApp?) and also for E2 simulator https://gerrit.o-ran-sc.org/r/admin/repos/sim/e2-interface-data)

  • New ns-3-based E2/RAN simulator contribution proposed by Northeastern University (with inputs from Mavenir & University of Padua)

    • Will act as an E2 simulator for near-RT-RIC as an ns-3 5G simulations using OSC E2 Simulator

    • License: GPL

    • New repo required.

NONRTRIC (@John Keeney (Ericsson EST))

• Finalizing ONAP J release for A1 Policy Management Service

• Working towards ONAP Kohn release requirements

• Repo moves almost complete.

• And, as per last week:

  • Working on e2e PM data - making it available over pre-R1 DME (OSC NONRTRIC) Information Coordination Service)

  • Working on PoC Service Exposure - with a view towards R1

    • Examining 3GPP CAPIF spec

    • Will update more as this matures - still very early - hopefully a demo in coming weeks (@Kevin Timoney )

SIM (@Alex Stancu)

• Northeastern University (& Mavenir, Padua University) approved to contribute an E2 simulator plugin for NS3.

  • Discussed at TOC this week (see above)

OAM (@Martin Skorupski)

• Looking at Prometheus for O-Cloud metrics (With Grafana? for visualization)

  • Possible to add to the base OSC SMO integration package?

• Examining O-Cloud specs & relevance for OAM. G release most likely.

O-DU (@Hariom Gupta @Vidhu (Deactivated))

• VES event production & fault event validation (schema reference): Working now

  • Will give a review soon

  • @Martin Skorupski Note Std-defined (FM?) messages are not yet visible in SDNR ODLux - will add soon

    • Maybe add support for different Std-defined events

OSC Integration / INT (@James Li )

• OTF workshop planned for RSAC call next Wed (see TOC vs RSAC time changes above)

  • OTF installed in Bedminster Lab

RSAC/SMO (@David Kinsey [AT&T])

• No update

• Need to get feedback back to @Magnus Buhrgard about plans to use 3GPP artifacts in ONAP

• Some discussion at O-RAN WG10 call about O-RAN→ 3GPP LS - but OSC out of scope there.

  • Probably should aim for more liaison OSC → 3GPP?

ONAP Use Cases Update  (@N.K. Shankaranarayanan)

• Working on SON use case requirement for K release

  • Moving from O1-based to A1-based

    • rApp would likely need to be aware whether it is using A1 or O1 - Currently R1 plans for 2 separate logical functions(?)/service(?) for O1 vs A1 ... maybe later R1 might have a more abstract (e.g. Intent) interface ?

    • Updating ONAP NetSIM for A1 etc. & plugable simualtor use-case logic

  • Hope to rApp-ify & extend the Control-loops ("Automation Compositions") used  - will work with ONAP Policy team @Liam Fallon )

    • Should have a Call soon between SON team, @N.K. Shankaranarayanan, @Liam Fallon & @John Keeney (Ericsson EST)

    • Currently messages are DMaaP (Control Loop messages) ... Will that work?

      • Will work for A1 PolicyManagementService (has a DMaaP NBI) - but this is not very R1-ey

  • Still have a few weeks - but need to make progress
