    • Release J planning continues

    • Call for attendees & suggestions for O-RAN Athens F2F

    • Need to discuss how to report on project/usecase to TOC for J-Release. TBC.

    • OSFG/OSC discussions continue. No update on SCCL yet.

NONRTRIC (@John Keeney (Ericsson EST))

• Initial proposals for J Release are ongoing:

  • Tentative headline goals:

    • Continue work on rApp Manager - as a focal point for tying together alot of other existing activities

      • Working on some sample rApps. e.g. See Release J: Simple rApp using Hello World Microservice

    • Continue work on Service Manager - again pulling together alot of work on Service Exposure in previous releases

      • may be able to get an early alpha version released at I Maintenance Release time - running out of time on this.

    • Continue maturing the A1-Policy Controller function (ref ONAP) - including a potential new NBI (v3) to achieve R1 alignment

    • May need to de-prioritise some of the older less-used NONRTRIC functions - we welcome others in the community to help take these on if interested.

    • Need to study how/if we can achieve R1-DME alignment. Specs continue to diverge from our implementation - with alot of effort need to align.  We welcome contributors to help here.

• Maintenance I-Release

  • Running out of time .... 

    • Still have an issue with A1 compatibility between A1-PMS and near-RT-RIC A1 Mediator. Hoping to make progress & fix together with A1-Mediator team for Maintenance Release.

• Will be updating at RSAC call: 2024 RSAC Meetings

  • No new use cases or feature requests yet

  • Thinking on moving simulator infrastructure form C++ → Python. Will hopefully help get more contributions

  • Would like to move to later version of netopeer

  • O-RAN spec alignment as features are added

  • Issue with OAuth (ONAP London ++) - working on this

    • Abover OSC version is much more lightweight, but probably not as functional.

• DMaaP adapter is not very scalable - intended as a demonstrator of small scale VES or Kaftka filtering & re publishing as an ICS job (REST of Kafka)

• DMaaP Adapter - and by default all ICS producers - are designed to not be aware of other producers or consumers

  • So load balancing is tricky

  • Easiest way is load balancing by splitting workloads across multiple jobs/producers rather than replicating producers in a single job etc...

• Will continue discussions off-line -e.g.

  • why are we using stateful sets instead of normal deployments? Combined with PVCs?

  • consumers stops re-trying if failure: probably need to improved this.

  • replication of ICS instances?

  • what is jobgroup?

    • This just represents multiple independent filters from multiple producers all publishing into the same topic
