• H Maintenance Release: 2 RAN-PM function re-released

  • New DockerCompose for RAN PM functions available. (Demo next week?)

  • Lots of updates to documentation etc.

  • Will demo RAN PM function soon. (Maybe part of it next week)

• Updating sonar scans and related updates to improve results

• Otherwise Work ongoing - as per last week:

  • Making good progress on rApp manager.  (Hope to demo in a couple of weeks)

  • 3PP dependency updates & addressing vulnerability

  • OpenAPI-first in A1-PMS & ICS

    • Change from code→openapi→docs to openapi → code-stubs & docs

    • To better align with R1 specs as they mature

    • To improve expressivity of docs etc.

  • Issue with test framework

    • Underscore in URI hostnames - introduced by docker-compose (v1)

  • Some changes in A1-Mediator in near-RT-RIC plt in H-Release.

    • Further investigation needed re effects on A1-PMS/ICS & A1-SIM

    • Will return to this in a week or 2.

• I-Release planning

• Focusing on PM Streaming - likely to be the main feature for I-Release

• Request (from RSAC) to make proposal for RAN PM streaming

• Experimenting with OAI and E, and limited A1.

• PM Streaming

• O1 spec seems to indicate 3GPP approach => websocket & (ASN1 or Protobuf)

  • .. but not much detail on either ASN1 or protobuf schema

  • Should be possible to use protobuf based on 3GPP XML XSD

    • ... looks possible (easy?) to map xml→protobuf based on XSD

      • Hopefully next week show a sample protobuf schema based on XSD.

    • ASN1 version seems tricky & maybe incomplete? ... So prefer Protobuf version.

    • Discussed a few simplifications, e.g. maybe REST for rApp→OAM for job setup, decouple DME-subscription & O1-PMJobCoordination initially, reuse existing file-based RAN PM fucntions for data subscriptions to rApp, etc.
