  • Last week's TOC (Thursday):
    • David mentioned that he will bring a proposal to TOC (this week) about re-badging some SMO-related OSC 
      • Discussed here as follow-up ....
        • Current focus on deployment & integration
          • Current work in OSC it/dep uses OOM, but do not change OOM charts scripts. ("with" OOM, not "in" OOM)
            • Currently OOM service mesh & security is disabled (in OSC SMO deployment deployment). If turned on, would OSC function become secure? Unlikely - current extensions are outside of mesh 
          • Unclear of the benefit.. need alot more clarity. 
        • Sridhar Rao explained the difference between OSC as a project in LF, vs OSC as a project in LFN foundation. 
          • Main difference is governance & legal particulars & representation.   
          • Could reuse more infrastructure in LFN & should reduce cost.
            • Current infrastructure very similar to LFN infra. 
          • Should not be a need to rename alot, e.g. paths, repos, etc. 
            • May need to move wiki & jira  to lfn-xxxx - hopefully not. 
        • Any transition would likely take 6 months +
    • David wants much better attendance/representation at TOC & RSAC calls. 
      • PTLs should make themselves available for a short update when requested. 
    • May need some changes in OSC & OSFG charters. TOC members are requested to be available for F2F meetings. 
    • Updates / Plans / Proposal on how to revamp O-RAN opensource are ongoing - Should be updates at the O-RAN F2F

• Missing Docker base images  (John Keeney (Ericsson EST)) :

  • Lots of jenkins jobs building/verify docker images where there is a dependency on JDK 17 base images. e.g. openjdk:17-jdk

    • These JDK base images have disappeared. Any possibility of OSC nexus taking a copy? e.g. ONAP maintains a JDK17 base image. 

      • Seems best option is to use amazoncorretto:17.0.17 or eclipse-temurin:17-jdk or similar. Means alot of changes

  • Similarly lots of bitnami images have been disappearing recently. 

  • Issue only happen when building. Existing images will have (disappeared) base image included, so released/built images should still be OK.
