Demo of Multi Node Cluster creation for OSC deployments (@Sridhar Rao & @Rehan Fazal)

• Uses Ansible internally for the automation tasks. 

• Running in UNH lab, with 4 machines

• Some questions about Near-RT-RIC & NONRTRIC/SMO  (@Sridhar Rao)

  • How to bootstrap the a1 interface connection (A1-Policy) 

    • Create SIMs (or RICs) with their A1 Policy Types - which is ten polled by A1-PMS if that RIC is in the configuration. 

      • Can add A1 policy types in sim: See APIs: https://docs.o-ran-sc.org/projects/o-ran-sc-sim-a1-interface/en/latest/ (PUT PolicyType)

    • If not in the configuration, can add it at runtime (no restart) using K8s config Map, Docker config file, or via rest interface

  • DMaaPAdapter 

    • Generic Kafka → ICS-Producer adapter   (needs a rename - DMaaP is gone a long time ago!)

    • Any use cases? 

      • Original tried RANPM using DMaaPadapter - but now that is in the RANPM functions/library

      • Still good for any Kafka topic, e.g. anything collected by VES, e.g. FM events

        • (Note also work on Alarm management in OAM! - Integration with ODLUX GUI) 

      • ... Or any other kafka data/topic from any other SMOS / source 

  • ONAP Policy in SMO

    • (Not releated to A1-Policy, or SDNC) 

    • CLAMP is needed by rAppManager 

    • Rest of Policy Framework can be used as a generic SMO Platform Service

    • Also support having Policies direcctly embedded in rApps - see a sample in "includes-everything" sample rApp

• Missing Docker base images  (@John Keeney (Ericsson EST)) :

  • JDK 17 base image has disaapear - failing lots of build/verify jobs. 

  • Just changed each image to have a new base
