• From last week:

  • Back working on SMO

    • Please use the latest version in IT/DEP

    • And working on rApps

      • See sample rApps in rAppManager repo

        • especially the rApp packing functions. At least start with these

O-RAN SC - Transition to LFN (proposal) (@Sridhar Rao )

• Needs help with proposal to TAC

SMO Deployment - Internship work (@Sridhar Rao & @Agnik Misra)

• Ansible parts are ready to share.

  • Still has some issue with network configuration for Nephio … needs some help

Gather PM from Viavi Nodes (@Sambit Sahoo) 

• Still stuck a bit with rApp onboarding

  • Working with @Saul Gill to try debug.

• From last weeks:

  • Some ongoing work with PM - Any suggestions? 

    • Think NTUST proposed file-based PM already with Viavi

    • Suggest using https://docs.o-ran-sc.org/projects/o-ran-sc-nonrtric-plt-ranpm/en/latest/ 

    • Streaming would be good - but no implementation 

    • Suggest to Not use VES for PM-Data delivery 

      • (Note VES is used for PM file-ready message)

• Still working on PM file collection from Viavi nodes

  • Seems file collection is working, but file parsing is a problem.

    • Suggest check logs of file converter & PM-producer.

    • Also make sure file format is schema compliant & version is configured correctly. (Strongly encouraged!)

  • Access to data in InfluxDB?

    • Currently don’t have a DME capability to query from Influx, so currently we expose Influx as an SME service producer, and query as a service call to Influx API.

    • Suggest also consider a new PMProducer DME job (with filter) have PM data pushed to rApp via DME, rather than (as well as?) putting the data in influx.

Evaluate ML Model performance & Retrain(Ehab El-Guindy) 

• General question about how to evaluate an ML model’s performance, trigger retraining and then reuse a new model

  • Need to checkout the AIMLFW project (Not sure if the project is active right now - due to resourcing issues)

    • See functions & APIs in docs & repos: esp: - Model Manager & Training Manager, with Inference service running in KServe

  • Should be possible for rApps to access APIs if the APIs are registered/exposed via SME/ServiceManager.

  • Inference services can be lifecycled by either: the rApp Manager - as part of an rApp; or seperately from an rApp - then accessed as any other service.

    • Ref: ESrApp deploys & uses an ML Model/InferenceService as part of the rApp (using KServe)

  • But … most of this is only partly tested

• Sridhar suggested to also check out the LFN Essedum project.
